Spring cleaning time! My craft room is overflowing and my significant other is complaining, so I’m hoping to find some of these delicious yarns happy new homes (with more coming in the near future as I get organized and take pictures…). My email is featherandfan at gmail dot com and my my blog is at Feather and Fan. Please contact me if you’d like something, and tell me your desired shipping method (USPS or UPS preferred, international shipping OK), and I will let you know if it’s available, the total cost, and the Paypal email address to send to.

Details: Please add shipping for the shipping method of your choice from 53711. A flat rate Priority Mail box will cost $4.95 for smaller quantities, or $10.35/$13.95 for larger, sweater quantities. Smoke-free, pet-free home. I can’t go to the post office every day, but will try to do so within two days of receiving payment. I cannot hold yarns for you without payment for longer than 24 hours. I have tried to take accurate photos, but the colors may still be off, so I’ve also tried to describe the colors. Let me know if you have any questions about anything!

Beaverslide McTaggart Tweed. 100% merino wool. This yarn is fantastic, a mule-spun/woolen-spun yarn, really lightweight and with a sort of rustic, uneven look despite its next-to-skin softness. It’s left over from my Owls sweater. I love it, but I think one sweater is enough–I don’t really need matching accessories.

color: Big Sky Blue, a medium blue color with slight flecks of black and lighter blue.

skeins: 2

weight: aran to chunky (12-14 sts/4″)

yardage: 210 yards each/420 yards total

MSRP: $9.95 a skein/$19.90 total

your price: $15 total

yarn: Plymouth Sinsation. This is like a heavier-weight version of Muench Touch Me–a rayon chenille with a wool core. Machine wash it to get a crushed velvet finish and prevent the chenille from worming. You could use it in a little bowtie scarf or sleep mask.

color: 3385, a royal dark purple

skeins: 2 (I wound them both onto 1 cardboard center cone to save space)

weight: chunky (12 sts/4″)

yardage: 38 yards each/76 yards total

MSRP: $14.99/skein

your price: $14 for both

yarn: Fleece Artist Peter Rabbit, a ridiculously soft and fluffy 70% angora/20% nylon/10% wool yarn. It looks like someone made a beautiful little triangle shawl out of 1 skein of this, or you could make a Rose Red beret

color: Ocean, a hand-dyed mix of blues, turquoises, greens, violets

skeins: 1

weight: DK (22 sts/4″)

yardage: 275 yards

MSRP: $20

your price: $15

yarn: Rowan Yorkshire Tweed DK, 100% wool. This yarn is really light and soft. Left over from my Sunrise Circle jacket and a pair of colorwork mittens.

color: 346 Champion, a inky dark blue with tweed flecks of purple, cornflower, turquoise, and powder blue

skeins: 2

weight: DK/worsted (20-22 sts/4″)

yardage: 123 yards each, 246 yards total

MSRP: $10/skein, $20 total

your price: $15 total

yarn: Jaeger Baby Merino DK, 100% superwash merino. I bought this ages ago to make Anna Bell’s Jemima sweater. But I should probably admit that if I haven’t cast on for this sweater three years later, I’m probably just never going to do it. If you want to make the Jemima pattern and you buy this yarn, I’ll throw in some Beatrix Potter buttons for free, just let me know.

color: 187 Surf and 188 Choco

skeins: 7 skeins of the Surf (baby blue) and 1 skein of the Choco (camel/tan)

weight: DK (22 sts/4″)

yardage: 131 yards each, 1048 yards total (917 yards blue, 131 yards tan)

MSRP: $6.75 each, $54 total

your price: $32 total

yarn: Cottage Industry Pure Luxury 100% organic Peruvian superfine alpaca. This stuff is pretty fantastic. Soft and a little shiny, with a light halo. I have two bags of this, so I have to grudgingly admit I could let one go. Like with the Jaggerspun listed above, I was thinking of doing a DK-weight cardigan like Bridie or Coraline with this, but I don’t know when I would get to it. It would also make a great simple pullover like the Hourglass Sweater.

color: 2 (a light off-white ecru/almond color, undyed)

skeins: 9

weight: DK (19-21 sts/4″ according to the label, but I think it’s really lighter weight than that)

yardage: 99 yards each, 891 yards total

MSRP: not sure

your price: $25 total

yarn: Brown Sheep Naturespun Worsted, 100% wool, “permanently mothproofed”. Left over from a scarf I made at some point. A good basic wool.

color: 720 Ash, a light warm gray/taupe

skeins: 1

weight: worsted (20 sts/4″)

yardage: 245 yards

MSRP: $6

your price: $4

yarn: Silk City Seville, 100% linen. This has a nice soft sheen to it, and there’s plenty here for a good-sized lace shawl, or you could double it and make a gorgeous drapey summer top or skirt. I just realized I don’t generally like working with plant fibers, so I have no idea what I was thinking when I bought 2000+ yards of linen. Like all linen yarns, it will soften and the drape and handle of the knitted fabric will improve with every wash/dry.

color: Okra (olive green)

skeins: 1 cone, 1.12 lb.

weight: Fingering/lace weight

yardage: this is 2000 yards per pound, so 2240 yards total (minus a small swatch)

MSRP: $114

your price: $57

yarn: Blue Sky Alpacas Alpaca & Silk. 50% alpaca, 50% silk. I bought this online, meaning to make the Somewhat Cowl, but it turned out when it arrived that it is a terrible color on me due to my yellowish skin tones. (If you have an equal amount of Alpaca Silk in a dark or jewel tone and want to trade, let me know!)

color: 132 Ginger, a really beautiful old-gold color that would be perfect on someone who’s not me.

skeins: 6

weight: Sport (20-24 sts/4″)

yardage: 146 yards each, 876 yards total

MSRP: $11.50/skein, $69 total

your price: $50 total

yarn: Austermann Step sock yarn, 75% superwash wool, 25% nylon. Infused with aloe vera and jojoba oil for soft feet!

color: 18, self-striping red, light gray, and dark gray with a slightly mottled/semi-solid look

skeins: 1

weight: fingering (30 sts/4″)

yardage: 460 yards

MSRP: $20.80

your price: $17

yarn: Noro Kureyon Sock yarn. Missing the label. It’s a 70% wool/30% nylon singles sock yarn.

color: not sure. It’s a rainbow self-striping colorway that includes yellow, green, fuchsia, purple, turquoise, royal blue, orange, and red

skeins: 1

weight: fingering (30 sts/4″)

yardage: 462 yards, minus a small amount from swatching

MSRP: $18.95

your price: $14

yarn: Araucania Copihue, 100% superfine alpaca, hand-dyed. Wound into balls but otherwise untouched. I wanted to copy this upsized Laminaria shawl.

color: 903, a hand-dyed mixture of berry/purple shades and blues

skeins: 7

weight: chunky (14 sts/4″)

yardage: 48 yards each, 336 yards total

MSRP: $8.50/skein, $59.50 total

your price: $30

yarn: Louisa Harding Kimono Angora. 70% angora, 25% wool, 5% nylon. Soft and fluffy, and it got a great review on Knitter’s Review. I’ll also include a partial skein of Louisa Harding Impression ribbon/mohair yarn in a turquoise/blue/white colorway. (It doesn’t coordinate with the angora, but is from the same company)

color: 7, variegated orange/green/yellow

skeins: 2

weight: worsted (16 sts/4″)

yardage: 124 yards each, 246 yards total

MSRP: $10.95 each, $21.90 total

your price: $10 total

yarn: Harris Tweed Shetland 4 Ply. 100% wool. A perfect yarn for colorwork. I got this in a trade and don’t need as much as I got, so I’m hanging onto a skein of it and getting rid of the rest. The spinning oils or lanolin from the yarn seem to have seeped through the label and it looks a little translucent now.

color: 6, a warm tomato red with subtle tweed flecks of yellow and purple

skeins: 2

weight: fingering (no recommended gauge given, but it recommends 3.25 mm/US 3 needles)

yardage: 230 yards

MSRP: not sure, but it’s similar to Rowan Scottish Tweed 4 Ply, which retails for $5.95 a skein ($11.90 total)

your price: $8 total

Other cool fiber stuff, not yarn:

Natural indigo-dyed 100% silk hankies for spinning, from Handspun by Stefania, a medium to light denim blue. I found that I actually really hate the process of spinning with hankies, so I would like to find these a new home. You can also knit with the unspun hankies, just stretch them out and knit with them like they’re yarn! There are 3 0.9-oz. packs here, 1 partly used. They were $13.50 each originally ($40.50 total). I would like $25 for all 3 packs.

Rescue my sweater! I have a nearly completed top-down raglan pullover knit in Rowan Calmer (80% cotton, 20% polyester, stretchy and nice!) in Tangerine, a cheerful sherbet orange. It just needs sleeves, and the one unused skein in the batch should be enough for the 3/4 length sleeves I’d intended, I think. Finish it or frog it for the 5 skeins (875 yards) it includes. MSRP would be $13.95/skein ($69.75 total). Your price: $30. It was supposed to be knit for a 32″ bust but I made it a bit too big… but I just can’t stand to frog it now, or move forward with it. Features a hemmed boat neck and lace wave edging at the bottom. I think it would fit about a 36″ bust best, with a little bit of negative ease.

I’m destashing a bunch of sock and lace yarns to be more realistic about how much I’ll be able to knit in the near future (recurring shoulder pain), so take them off my hands!  All yarns are stored in bins away from the cat, but some cat hair is possible.  Yarns come from a smoke-free home and are in original condition unless otherwise noted.  Prices listed include US/Canada first class shipping, unless otherwise noted.  Cash-funded paypal preferred, but credit card-funded is ok too.  I’ll combine shipping on multiple skeins.  Email me with any questions!  – K8

Please note – I will not hold a yarn for you if you just email me asking if it’s available or with general questions.  I’ll also only hold a yarn for 24 hours while waiting for payment.  In order to minimize trips to the post office, I only ship out on Mon, Weds, or Fri

1 skein Dream in Color Baby in Cloud Jungle – 700 yds – $16

3 skeins Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock in Pewter – 645 yds total – $24 for all 3

4 skeins Malabrigo Worsted in Velvet Grapes – 864 yds total – $36 for all 4

1 skein Nimu Glaramar lace – 1200 yds – $18

1 skein Yarn Lust Back to Basics sock in Peacock – 440 yds – $16

First off, the standard disclaimer: I made every last attempt to get the colors right in Photoshop, on my screen, matching the colors of the yarns here, in my house. However, your screen may display the same jpegs slightly differently, and I can’t guarantee the color your screen shows is EXACTLY the color of the yarn. If you have any questions, please email me.
